Letter from the Editor

Well, hello there.
I bet you weren’t expecting to see a letter from the editor posted here, like this. But hey, we weren’t expecting to live through a global pandemic either.

We’ve had a semester that has differed drastically from all that have come before, so it only felt right to distribute this semester’s issue of ROCKET in a way that was equally different.

This “issue” isn’t an issue as such. It’s decentralized, episodic, and entirely digital. This new method of content distribution reflects our decentralized, episodic, and near-entirely digital lives. We’re giving you bite-sized pieces of the ROCKET content you know and love, formatted intentionally for your online viewing pleasure.

I can’t lie, it’s been a doozy. I am pleased to report that no humans were harmed in the making of this quasi-issue. My gratitude goes out to all of our wonderful staff members who worked hard to create, and create safely, compelling content that hopefully gives you something to think about as you hunker down at home with hot beverages and cozy blankets. We went to space! We tried out cottagecore! We even braved the rage of skatebros to lay on ramps and other skate-park structures!

Our cast of models this semester is entirely made up of staff members and the people who live with them. We kept our circles small to stay safe, and as a result, you get to see some of the faces of our staff alongside the products of their hard work.

I can’t wait for you to see what we have in store. Keep your eyes on our social accounts to stay updated on our weekly releases.

Xoxo,
Emily Bacal
