Camryn Claude – 2022
How did you achieve this look?
For this look, I really wanted to focus on what I have the most fun doing, which is full glam makeup looks. I used the Take Me Back to Brazil eyeshadow palette from BH Cosmetics, which has a lot of bright colors, making it perfect for my glam look. I also used the Baby Got Peach eyeshadow palette by Colourpop and a Stila liquid eyeshadow to add a glittery touch to my eye look. I used a NYX Intense Butter Gloss for the super glossy lip, which is one of my favorite things to add to any makeup look. For my base, I used a Fenty Beauty foundation and a Milk concealer, with blush and highlight from The Saharan Vol. II by Juvia’s Place. I finished the look with some dramatic lashes by iEnvy.
What’s your go-to beauty look?
Since I do my makeup everyday and don’t always have a ton of time in the morning, my go-to beauty look is a simplified version of the full glam that I love to do. Normally I’ll do my eyebrows with a brow pomade and use concealer to carve them out since a chiseled brow is a signature part of my look. I’m also a big fan of a peachy-colored blush for a more youthful look. I almost always wear lashes (recently I’ve swapped my bold, dramatic lash for a more natural one) but when I don’t, I’ll go for a winged eyeliner. For my lips, I’ll normally line them in a dark brown lipliner and add some gloss on top.
What got you into makeup?
It started for me when I was in the 9th grade. I’ve always had naturally mediocre eyebrows, but one time I got them done and my mom told the lady waxing them (Mimi) that she didn’t want me to have too much arch because I was really young. Mimi interpreted this as “please give my daughter rectangular caterpillar brows” and I was very upset to say the least. I asked my mom to fix them, and my mom interpreted this as “please give me 90s pencil-thin eyebrows” and I was even more upset than before. So I stole an eyebrow pencil from her and attempted to “fix” them myself ( it was even worse than before, but I didn’t know that). One thing led to another, and now I obsessively do my makeup almost every day.
What’s your favorite little-known makeup hack?
Since my foundation is a little too dark for me right now, I find that highlighting with my normal concealer doesn’t quite lighten it as much as I want. So instead I use a concealer that’s WAY too light for me and layer it underneath my foundation for a “glow from within” look. Since it’s underneath, it doesn’t look as extreme as it would if it were on top. If I don’t want to lighten my makeup, another technique I like is putting a liquid highlight under my foundation.
What’s your holy grail product?
Since I’m most obsessed with my brows, my holy grail product would be Covergirl’s Easy Breezy Brow Sculpt Pomade. sIt’s super inexpensive, good quality, and buildable, so I can do my brows as light or dark as I want.
What was your favorite ROCKET shoot?
I might be biased, but my favorite ROCKET shoot was the one that I got to model in last semester called Don’t Touch My Hair, because I thought it was really cool for a shoot to be centered around natural hair since it’s not something that you hear a lot about on campus.
